Vertex Pistons offers on the off-road market a range of high performance pistons for 2-stroke motorcycles, the Race Evolution pistons.

These pistons, developed in the championships, starting from the world one, thanks to the collaboration with numerous and winning motocross and enduro teams, stand out from the other product lines by reduced top land, 0.8 mm special ring, special MoS2 coating featured by specific pockets to facilitate cylinder/piston smoothness and a dedicated racing profile. The Evo line has been updated to the 2022 cross and enduro models. 

GP-RACER'S CHOICE AND 4T OFFROAD PISTONS

Vertex Pistons is world-renowned for its off-road pistons, in particular for the GP-Racer’s Choice model, which is the piston chosen by the World and European champions of motocross, enduro and supermoto.

At the top of Vertex Pistons 4-stroke off-road production, the GP-racer’s choice is hot forged with high resistance VP-310 alloy, equipped with the T-Bridge exclusive machined inspired by F1, DLC coated pin, rings in chromed or nitrated steel depending on the application and it stands out for the exclusive shape of the head that allows guarantee excellent performance without any loss of reliability.

To demonstrate how much this piston model is decisive for increasing the performance and safety of motorcycles, there are the many new titles won also in 2021.

In fact, in the season just ended, Vertex Pistons dominated the motocross world championship by winning the MX2 titles of champion with Maxime Renaux and vice-champion with Jago Geerts, both riders of the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 team. Then, it conquered the second and third world championship place in the MXGP, respectively with Romain Febvre of the Monster Energy KRT team and with the multiple world champion Tim Gajser, rider of the Honda HRC team. In the WMX it won the vice-champion title with Nancy Van de Ven of the Ghidinelli Racing team and the third step of the podium with Kiara Fontanesi of the MX Fonta Racing team, who also won the title of 2021 Italian champion. Other successes in the last motocross season were achieved by Romain Febvre again, who became champion at the Internazionali d'Italia in the MX1 and Supercampione classes, and by Alessandro Lupino of the MRT Racing KTM team, who became Italian champion of the Prestige Elite MX1 class. Added to these are the titles won in the European championship, where the Vertex pistons were highlighted with the victory of Valerio Lata of the KTM Marchetti Racing team in the EMX125 and the second place of Kevin Horgmo of the GASGAS SM Action team in the EMX250.

Vertex Pistons then scored excellent results in world enduro, with 6 titles won: Brad Freeman of the Beta Factory team became world champion of Enduro GP and E3, Matteo Pavoni of the TM Boano Factory team won the Junior and J2 world champion titles, Lorenzo Macoritto, of the TM Boano Factory team too, became champion in EJ1 and Albin Norrbin of the Fantic D'Arpa Racing team won the EY title. Finally, new successes were also achieved in SuperMoto with Marc Reiner Schmidt and Thomas Chareyre, riders of the L30-Tm Racing team, with which Vertex Pistons earned the S1Gp world champion and vice-champion titles respectively.

In addition to the GP-Racer's Choice model, the range of 4-stroke off-road pistons is completed by the hi-tech Replica, High Compression and Big Bore models, all characterized by a molybdenum disulfide coating to enhance smoothness and wear resistance, each equipped with own and specific features that respectively guarantee a perfect replacement of standard pistons with an excellent quality/price ratio, an increase in the compression ratio which improves power and torque and an increase in displacement which greatly improve performances.

The off-road 4-stroke Vertex pistons range has been updated to the cross, enduro and supermotard 2022 models and is available for Beta enduro motorcycles in the 350/390/430/480 RR versions, for the whole KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas range, as well as for Honda CRF 250/450, Kawasaki KX 250/450 F, Yamaha YZ 250/450 F and Suzuki RM-Z 250/450. 

TOP-END PISTON KIT

The Top-End Piston Kits are the renowned kits for engine maintenance and regeneration developed by VP Italy to save time and money for off-road lovers, as they are an all-encompassing product that collects all the parts needed to upgrade and renew the engine’s thermal section at a very affordable cost.

Particularly appreciated by the public for these characteristics, the Top-End Piston Kits specifically include the piston (Replica/Race/Race Evolution in the versions for 2-stroke motorcycles and Replica/High Compression/GP-racer's choice in the versions for 4-stroke motorcycles), rings, wrist pin, circlips, top-end gaskets and wrist pin bearing (in the versions for 2-stroke motorcycles). A product that is already exceptional in itself, but which VP Italy further embellishes by offering the cam chain for free in the versions for 4-stroke bikes and a discount on the price of 10%, compared to what would be spent by purchasing every single product separately, in the versions for 2-stroke bikes.

The Top-End Kits were then updated to accommodate even more off-road motorcycles, including the new 2022 models.   

FRONT AND REAR SPROCKETS BY VERTEX PISTONS

Vertex Pistons is not just racing pistons, but also front and rear sprockets.

The well-known Italian brand, world leader in the piston sector, offers the market a range of front and rear sprockets dedicated to off-road motorcycles that was made in Europe and fine-tuned with the collaboration of the factory motocross and enduro teams.

All the rear sprockets are customized with the exclusive Vertex design, manufactured with high quality materials, are completely anodized to increase wear resistance and improve durability and have quality certification thanks to processing on CNC machines.

Three models available: the Steel-Sprockets, made in special stainless steel C45 and black anodized, the Alu-Sprockets, made in Alloy 7075 with T6 heat treatment and with mud grooves on one side, and the Duo-Sprockets, made by an external part in 16CrNi4 steel with long lasting induction teeth and a core in Alloy 7075 with T6 heat treatment. The Alu and Duo sprockets are available in several different colors.

Instead, there are two front sprockets: the basic model K and the KC version equipped with lightening holes designed not to compromise reliability. Both are produced in special 16CrNi4 steel, fully CNC machined and have quality certifications. 

ROAD 

2022 ROAD PISTONS LINE

The Vertex Pistons range of pistons for road sport motorcycles, developed in Moto3 in collaboration with the SIC58 Team and in the Superbike and Supersport GPs, has been expanded with versions dedicated for 2022 models.

These road pistons, developed exclusively for riding on the track, are offered in Replica or High Compression version complete of rings, wrist pin and circlips.

Among the advantages, a weight at the lowest limits of the category and an increased compression ratio that significantly increases engine performance without any loss of reliability.

The Vertex Pistons road kits, already on the market for Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, BMW and Ducati 600, 1000 and 1200 cc engines, are now available also for KTM Duke. 

PISTONS FOR SCOOTERS 2022

The street range of Vertex pistons includes also a high-performance line for 2 and 4-stroke scooters from 50 to 530 cc with pistons characterized by important technical features, capable of guaranteeing a significant improvement in performance and an absolute reliability.

The Vertex pistons for scooters are designed for cylinders with chrome-plated barrel and cast iron and stand out not only for their good performance but also for the high number of increases available, thus being particularly useful and convenient for all scooter owners, even for those who use their vehicles only in urban areas and for going to work.

This line has been updated to the latest scooter models and proposed on the market with a particularly interesting price compared to the original product. Among the many pistons stand out those for Aprilia Scarabeo 50/250, Kymco People and Agility 50, Piaggio Vespa PX and Liberty 125/150, Aprilia D-Tech injection 50 and Honda SH 150. For the sportier scooter models, such as Yamaha T-Max and Majesty and for Suzuki Burgman, in addition to the basic Replica version, there is also the performing High Compression version, that optimizes and significantly improves performances. Vertex Pistons also produces pistons dedicated to vintage scooters, including the timeless Piaggio models starting with the various Vespa versions.
