Star Racing Yamaha rider, Cooper Webb is the 2025 AMA 450 supercross champion and joins two legends, Bob Hannah and Jeff Stanton as a three-time AMA SX 450 champion.

Along with his AMA 250 motocross championship, the four-time AMA champion is now 100% amongst the all-time greats of the sport. Webb eventually beat Chase Sexton by just two points (365 to 367), with the KTM rider showing amazing speed at the back-end of the season, but early season mistakes really cost him the title. It was Sexton's seven main win of the season.

Cooper Webb: It means everything man, just waking up and wanting to get this again. Never give up on yourself. I might not be the best, but I knew I wasn't done after those first two. I couldn't do this without the whole team and my wife and family. It means the World, because this might never happen again, so I am going to enjoy the shit out of it. Never give up on yourself kids. 100%, a long time ago, Star Racing was the only team that would give me a job and it is like a family for me and Bobby is like my grandpa and to deliver a championship to them is unreal. I think, as a racer, you have doubts and off years and i have been close the last two years, but the doubt kept me going. I am not Jett, or Chase or Eli, but I am Cooper Webb man. I just wanted to get this for the team, my family and myself another championship. We didn't want to talk about the injury (Webb had a pre-season injury), but I retore my ACL and it was 50/50 if I could race this year. I told the boys, I am going out there and see what we could do.

Chase Sexton: A little bit too late, Cooper had an awesome season and he is such a great competitor and I knew nine points to catch up would be tough. We will be back for outdoors and SMX, we have some more championships to go for and we will try and build on this.

Webb showed that experience and composure will always get you a championship as the now three-time AMA supercross champion rode a safe, and consistent race to finish fourth in the Salt Lake City main event and scored the 2025 AMA 450 supercross championship.

While it was Chase Sexton who won the main event, it was Webb who was the big winner tonight. Sexton led the main event early after passing Webb and just rode off into the distance. Webb had holeshot the main, but once passed by Sexton, was then second for the first half of the main, but was passed by Malcolm Stewart and then his team-mate Justin Cooper. Staying calm, Webb just did what he had to and showed us all once again, what a legend he is.

Tom Vialle won the East Coast Supercross championship, but Haiden Deegan won the East/West main event, af
