1. Dean Wilson Delivers a Superpole Statement

Dean Wilson opened the Calgary round with a Superpole win, putting himself at the front of the conversation immediately. The result was an important early marker for the Scottish-born racer who grew up in Calgary. Wilson showed the pace needed to lead a talented SX1 field and gave his team a strong foundation for the opening round. It was a polished, high-pressure performance when it mattered most to set the tone.

2. Max Anstie Completes the SX2 Clean Sweep

Max Anstie left Calgary with the perfect SX2 weekend, completing a clean sweep of the round. From the outset, he looked in control, combining speed, starts and consistency to keep the opposition behind him. A clean sweep showed again his ability to execute throughout every session and format, despite riding for a new team in 2026 in Rick Ware Racing. Anstie’s opening-round performance makes him the early benchmark in SX2 and gives him vital momentum going forward.

3. Justin Hill’s Comeback Gets Serious

Justin Hill’s return became one of the most compelling stories of the weekend, particularly after he set a stunning 50-second qualifying lap. That pace made him the fastest rider on the track and confirmed that his comeback is not just about making up the numbers. Hill looked sharp, committed and capable of challenging the established frontrunners. If he can turn qualifying speed into consistently strong race results, he could become a major SX1 factor this season.

4. Cooper Webb Looks Fast on his Full Debut

Cooper Webb’s full World Supercross debut in Calgary brought plenty of attention, and he showed why. Webb looked quick from the beginning, displaying the kind of racecraft and intensity that have made him one of supercross’s most respected competitors. While an opening round is only the first chapter of a season, his performance suggested he will be in the mix as the championship develops. Calgary offered an encouraging first glimpse of what Webb can bring to the Championship.

5. Rick Ware Racing Goes Five for Five

Rick Ware Racing enjoyed an exceptional opening round that set a powerful statement for any team, especially at the start of a championship where early confidence can carry through the season. The squad’s riders repeatedly delivered when it counted, helping establish Rick Ware Racing as one of the standout operations in Calgary. It was a near-perfect weekend and one the team will want to build on in Birmingham.

6. Stark Makes an Immediate Start-Line Impact

Stark made its presence felt in Calgary with holeshots, a race lead through Brian Hsu and the brand’s first podium courtesy of Michael Hicks. The electric manufacturer’s progress was impossible to miss: getting out front, running at the sharp end and reaching the podium are meaningful milestones in a competitive supercross setting. Hsu demonstrated that the bike can contend at the front, while Hicks delivered a landmark result that gives Stark real momentum for the rounds ahead.

7. Cameron McAdoo Begins his World Supercross Journey

Cameron McAdoo made his World Supercross debut in Calgary, adding another accomplished name to the SX2 lineup. Debuts can be demanding, with new event formats, unfamiliar surroundings and competitive field all requiring quick adaptation. McAdoo’s first outing was an important opportunity to establish his rhythm in the series and assess where he stands against the competition. With more track time, he has the experience and determination to become increasingly influential as the season progresses.

8. Mitchell Harrison Earns SX1 Rider of the Round

Mitchell Harrison was named Rider of the Round in SX1, recognition of an impressive overall effort in Calgary. In a field stacked with high-profile riders and proven race winners, standing out across an entire event is no small achievement. The award reflects Harrison’s ability to bring speed and consistency when the pressure was on. It also gives him a valuable confidence boost heading into the next rounds, where he will look to turn that recognition into more major results.

9. Vince Friese Shows Early Season Pace

Vince Friese looked quick in Calgary and raised an intriguing question for the rest of the SX1 field: can he challenge throughout the season? Friese has always brought intensity and aggression to the racetrack, and his opening-round speed suggests he could be a difficult rider to contain. The key will be maintaining that pace across every session and race format. If he can combine his speed with consistency, Friese could be one of the season’s disruptors.

10. Calgary Sets the Tone for a Competitive Season

Round 1 in Calgary delivered exactly what an opening World Supercross round should: established stars showing their class, returning riders proving their pace, new names making debuts and teams setting ambitious early standards. From Anstie’s SX2 dominance to the close attention around Wilson, Hill, Webb and Stark, there were storylines across the paddock. Calgary made one thing clear, this season is already shaping up to be fiercely competitive.
