WSX - Power Rankings
Eli Tomac sizzled on his debut for KTM in an epic contest in Vancouver for the World Supercross Canadian GP. Here are the Power Rankings from our guest contributor, journalist Lewis Phillips, who was in BC Place.
WSX media guy, Lewis Phillips did this cool power rankings and we present it to you here on mxlarge.
1. Eli Tomac (10/10)
Tomac could not have asked for too much more in his KTM debut; he was close to flawless and, crucially, looked genuinely happy. Vancouver will only spur him on as 2026 beckons.
2. Ken Roczen (10/10)
Poor starts let Roczen down, but his riding was phenomenal – arguably more impressive than Argentina at points – and he reaffirmed his status as championship leader.
3. Henry Miller (9/10)
Quite the step forward from the first round for Miller. Seventh in SX1 is the current ‘best of the rest’ – a spot that deserves more credit than it typically receives.
4. Christian Craig (9/10)
Craig looks so much better than he ever has on a 450F. It looks like he is back to his best, or at least en route to that, and the prospect of what’s ahead is genuinely exciting.
5. Justin Cooper (8/10)
Cooper was incredibly fast at points – don’t overlook that Superpole lap – but just could not put it together. The result is not a true representation of his speed.
6. Jason Anderson (8/10)
Despite his first podium of the season, and his first aboard the RM-Z450, Anderson was fairly anonymous in BC Place. There is certainly a lot more to come.
7. Joey Savatgy (7/10)
Savatgy is visibly frustrated. It’s been a solid start for him, but there are minor hiccups that continue to hold him back. All is not lost, as far as his bid for the championship, but Australia will be telling.
8. Greg Aranda (6/10)
Should Aranda receive more credit for his start to the season? Absolutely. He is one of only six athletes to finish inside the SX1 top ten at both rounds – a feat that should not be overlooked.
9. Austin Politelli (6/10)
Eighth in the final SX1 race is a fair reflection of Politelli’s capability. It’s hard to picture him running much higher than that, which makes his Vancouver showing genuinely worth celebrating.
10. Jorge Zaragoza (5/10)
Like Hicks in SX2, Zaragoza has done a phenomenal job of making Stark appear competitive. Should he be this much better than his teammate?
11. Jordi Tixier (5/10)
Tixier’s been luckless with falls and incidents across two rounds of WSX, so he literally limped out of BC Place. His season has not truly started yet.
12. Vince Friese (4/10)
Although this was significantly better than Argentina, Friese is a shadow of his former self. The fade in the first race was not a positive look for anyone in his camp.
13. Justin Hill (2/10)
Hill should be better than this on even his worst day. It’s clear that he entered WSX without ideal preparation – spectators have suffered as a result.
14. Ryan Breece (2/10)
What happened to the Breece who was so competitive in Argentina? It’s now more apparent just how much round one, namely its smaller floor plan and hard dirt, helped him prosper.
15. Devin Simsonson (2/10)
A disqualification that will undoubtedly be contested hurt the ‘look’ of his weekend, but he was not quite as strong as we saw in Argentina.
