Behind every championship-winning rider stands a visionary team boss, the ones who build, fund, and fight to keep their squads on the podium. These are the leaders redefining what it takes to compete at the top of the World Supercross Championship.

Yarrive Konsky – Quad Lock Honda

A relative latecomer to motorcycles, Konsky had already decided by the time he left school that he did not have the financial backing required to make it as a full-time racer. Instead, having already helped other riders find sponsorship, he launched his own team at just 18 years old. By the mid-2000s, Konsky was managing events in the Australian Supercross Championship and working with MXTV before moving into a leadership role with Honda’s Australian 250 program in 2007. Today he runs the Quad Lock Honda outfit on the global World Supercross stage. His drive to bring about success across the globe led Konsky to bring a Honda-backed team to the World Supercross Championship, where his drive and attention to detail have delivered multiple race wins and strong championship campaigns.

Rick Ware – Rick Ware Racing

Based in Concord, North Carolina, Rich Ware Racing has become a recognised name across numerous branches of motorsport. Born into a racing family, Rick Ware transitioned from competitor to team owner after a series of injuries curtailed his driving career. Originally focusing on NASCAR, Rick Ware Racing eventually expanded to two wheels, and Ware has built something of a business empire. Its World Supercross program continues that tradition of diversification, with the team regularly fielding front-running riders and collecting podium finishes on the international circuit.

Dustin Pipes – Pipes Motorsport Group

Pipes’ childhood in Madera saw him surrounded by a family who organised races for the California Motorcycle Association and developed his passion for competitive sport at a young age. He went on to race himself, scoring some notable results without ever truly seeing a clear path to the very top of motorcycle racing. In the twilight of his riding days, he set up his own team. That decision gave rise to the Pipes Motorsport Group, a privateer operation that has become known for its professionalism and talent development. The team reached the pinnacle of World Supercross success when Ken Roczen claimed back-to-back SX1 World Supercross titles in 2022 and 2023.

Mike Genova – Motoconcepts

Affectionately referred to as the ‘backbone’ of MCR, Genova’s route into the World Supercross Championship is definitely a dirt road less travelled. Genova initially made his money producing products for hot tubs, he turned his passion for motorcycles into MotoConcepts; originally a platform to showcase the performance parts his company produced. Having enjoyed motorcycle racing at a local level as a youngster, Genova decided to move into producing parts for bikes and soon realised the best way to showcase his new products was to launch a race team using his own gear. Now established in World Supercross, Genova and his Honda-backed team will be aiming to improve on a fourth-place finish last year.

Serge Guidetty – Team GSM

As with many other team principals, Guidetty started out as a rider and enjoyed a level of domestic success during his youth in France. In 1995 he won the freestyle contest at the Bercy Supercross before transitioning to team boss and trainer, becoming a licensed trainer for those hoping for a career in motorcycle racing. He founded Team GSM in 2008 and has guided the outfit from a junior team in France to a major player in the World Supercross Championship. Guidetty has always been keen to nurture the France’s young motorcycle racers.

Stephane Dasse – Venum Bud Racing

Another Frenchman with a passion for motorcycle racing, Dasse formed Bud Racing when he and his brother Sebastien joined forces with Phillipe Dartiailh in 1995. After Sebastien’s passing in 2018, Dasse has carried on the legacy, maintaining a strong partnership with Kawasaki and expanding the team’s international presence. Dasse is, like rival and compatriot Guidetty, dedicated to promoting young French racers. Dasse said recently that the World Supercross Championship is a “very good match” for Bud Racing’s style and spirit and will want a more successful season this year.

Sebastien Tortelli – Stark

Two-time Motocross World Champion Ssbastien Tortelli brings elite-level experience to Stark’s groundbreaking all-electric World Supercross project. After a distinguished racing career in Europe and the United States, Tortelli joined Stark in 2021 as Race Director. He has played a central role in testing and developing the company’s VARG electric motocross bike and leads the effort to prove that sustainable technology can compete head-to-head with traditional combustion machines on the world stage.
