Yamaha 115 M78 Motorsport team to be led by Carlos Campano, MX3 World Champion and five-time Brazilian MX1 Champion

Yamaha Racing Brasil is pleased to announce the signing of young talent Bernardo Tibúrcio for the 2026 seasons of the European Motocross Championship, alongside the official launch of the Yamaha 115 M78 Motorsport team. The investment in the 18-year-old rider marks the beginning of a new project aligned with Yamaha Motor do Brasil’s long-standing commitment to developing athletes and preserving its legacy of champions.

The new Yamaha Racing Brasil team in Europe is formed through a partnership between Carlos Campano, world champion and five-time Brazilian champion, and Alan Douglas. Bernardo Tibúrcio is the team’s rider and he is already living in Spain, preparing to debut in the European Championship in March.

Bernardo Tiburcio’s arrival represents far more than a new signing. It reinforces Yamaha’s commitment to developing the next generation of Brazilian stars. We carry a legacy built by great names in motocross, and we continue to look toward the future with responsibility, planning, and ongoing investment. Yamaha Racing Brasil’s athlete-development journey begins with strong investments in the BLU CRU Program, from the R-Series in road racing, which for nearly a decade has taken Brazilian riders to compete successfully in WorldSBK, to the IMS YZ125 BLU CRU Cup, which develops motocross riders, and now goes even further, supporting a Brazilian talent to become one of the major names on the world stage. Our role is to open doors, provide structure, and create the conditions for this potential to turn into long-lasting results for Brazilian motorsports. We want to see Bernardo shine in Europe with the Brazilian flag, and in the future, see more Brazilians follow this same path,” says Giovana do Vale, Brand & Marketing & Racing Manager at Yamaha Motor do Brasil.

Bernardo Tibúrcio, the current Brazilian Motocross Champion in the MX2 class, will compete in Europe aboard a Yamaha YZ250F, racing across 10 different countries (see calendar below).

I’m very happy with this incredible opportunity. My 2025 season in Brazil was perfect with the Brazilian Motocross and Arenacross titles, so I felt ready for the next step. After studying my options, I realized that Europe was the right path: racing the European Motocross Championship, and Yamaha embraced my project 100%. I’m extremely grateful for this support and the structure Yamaha Racing Brasil is providing to make this dream a reality. I’m excited to begin. The transition is big, but I’m surrounded by great professionals. This experience will be very important for my life, not just as a rider but as a person,” says Bernardo Tibúrcio.

According to Carlos Campano, Bernardo has a promising future and the potential to continue Yamaha’s winning legacy.

Bernardo is an athlete with enormous technical potential and remarkable capacity for evolution. Since childhood, he has been well trained by our coach Dino (Alexandre Telles), and now he is ready to take the next step. Our goal is to prepare him to compete at a high level in Europe and shape his career so that he arrives in the Motocross World Championship ready to fight among the best,” says Campano.

Alan Douglas, manager of M78 and coordinator of the Yamaha 115 M78 team in Europe, highlights:

Since 2015, we have managed Yamaha’s road racing operations in Latin America and Europe, building a solid trajectory of major achievements. Now we take a strategic step into off-road, opening a new path that we expect to grow with the same consistency, professionalism, and victories we have achieved in road racing. We are committed to developing talent, expanding our presence, and further elevating the level of Brazilian motocross,” says Alan Douglas.
