Adamo Wins Saturday
Andrea Adamo has won the MX2 qualification race with a sizzling performance around the beautiful Ernee circuit. Second was Simon Langenfelder, as both the KTM men gained major points on De Wolf, who finished in 8th place. Third in the moto was Sasha Coenen.
Championship points are now Kay de Wolf 383 points, Simon Längenfelder 374pts, Andrea Adamo 369pts. So, De Wolf with a nine point lead over Langenfelder.
Andrea Adamo: I had a good start in first and Simon put pressure, but I knew where I was fast and slow and I controlled the race. A good moto and tomorrow we start in pole position, so top.
Adamo led the MX2 qualifier, from Langenfelder, Coenen Lata, Elzinga, Valin, Zanchi, Benistant, Everts and Farres, with de Wolf well back in the pack, but climbing into 23rd quickly. Then into 18th after a few corners.
Lap one and Everts dropped to 19th place after a good start and De Wolf into 16th place but struggling somewhat. Adamo still led from Langenfelder and Coenen and again a KTM domination. Zanchi 20th, so maybe he crashed with Everts.
Triumph boys McLellan and Farres both crashed with Farres seemingly hurt. Different crashes, but quickly both crashed. On lap two it was Adamo, Langenfelder, Coenen, Elzinga, Lata, Benistant, Oliver, Reisulis, Valk and Grau in 10th. De Wolf 10th and Everts 15th.
Elzinga a crash and seemingly hurt as he dropped out of fourth and the top ten was suddenly, Adamo, Langenfelder, Coenen, Lata, Benistant, Oliver, Valk, Reisulis, de Wolf and Grau 10th. Everts 11th, Zanchi 13th and McLellan 16th. De Wolf crashed while pushing to get into 8th place but didn’t lose a spot.
On lap seven it was Adamo with a one second lead over Langenfelder, with Coenen four seconds off the leader, then Lata, Benistant, Oliver, Valk, Reisulis, de Wolf and Everts who moved into 10th place.
Adamo still led Langenfelder, but the two stuck together the whole race as the fight the last two laps to get a victory and major points on De Wolf, who was still in ninth place and a single point gain for the Dutchman. Adamo wins from Langenfelder and Coenen.
