Adamo Wins Saturday - Agueda
Red Bull KTM factory rider, Andrea Adamo who won the last Grand Prix in Trentino in Italy, has won the Saturday qualifier at Agueda, Portugal, for the MX2 riders with a start to finish victory and adding more points to his championship tally. The Italian won from Sasha Coenen and Liam Everts.
In muddy conditions, Adamo led from Coenen, Everts, Langenfelder, De Wolf, McLellan, Benistant, Valin, Farres, Valk. De Wolf moved past Everts and then made a mistake and Everts back to third. After four laps it was Adamo, Coenen, Everts, de Wolf, Langenfelder, Valin, Farres, McLellan, Reisulis and Prugnieres.
Six laps in and the lead by Adamo over Coenen was just one second, with Everts eight seconds back, then de Wolf, Langenfelder, Valin, McLellan, Farres, Reisulis and Prugnieres. Adamo suddenly gapped Coenen a little, and while the rain kept away, the mud remained outside the fastest lines.
On lap nine the lead by Adamo was 1.9 seconds, with Everts closing up a little on the front two riders, then de Wolf around 12 seconds off the leaders. Next came Langenfelder, McLellan, Farres, Valin (who crashed), Prugnieres and Zanchi in 10th. Adamo wins it from Coenen and Everts.
