The 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship season got off to a flying start in Calgary, as Wilson and Anstie take the SuperPole in the SX1 and SX2 classes respectively.

Wilson, who was called up by the Quad Lock Honda Konsky Motorsport Group team as a replacement for the injured Joey Savatgy, was making a return to Calgary.

The Scottish-born rider moved to Calgary as a child and grew up in Alberta, honing his riding skills on the local tracks. And he used his local knowledge to good effect when he snatched SuperPole, earning the right to pick his starting gate for the three evening races – the two sprint races and the longer Main Event.

Wilson set a time of 51.617 around the McMahon Stadium, just +0.110sec ahead of Cooper Webb. Webb, who has signed for the Rick Ware Racing team for this season, is the favourite to win this year’s title, but he had to settle for the second gate pick in the SX1 class after being beaten by Wilson.

Christian Craig was third in the SuperPole as the Quad Lock Honda Konsky Motorsport Ground rider rolled back the years with a fine run before getting out of rhythm in the whoops, costing him valuable time.

Justin Hill, who has topped the timesheets in practice and qualifying and looking in relaxed form, was fourth for Rick Ware Racing in SuperPole.

In the SX2 class, Anstie – who dominated last season to win the title, was only third in qualifying as Brian Hsu was a surprise on the Stark to set the pace. But Anstie made it count when it mattered in SuperPole with a a neat lap of 53.416.

Devin Simonson, who last year was in the SX1 class and has moved to SX2 for 2026, looked in inspired form, taking second in the SuperPole. Cole Thompson was third for Team GSM as the Canadian rider looks to get his season off to a flying start while Hsu’s early promise faded on a cut-up track and he was fourth.
