  • Race Report

Red Bull KTM factory rider, Sasha Coenen took a flag to flag victory after another brilliant holeshot. The Belgian teenager controlled the race at his own pace, with red plate man, Simon Langenfelder finishing second and extending his points lead over Andrea Adamo and Kay De Wolf, who both crashed multiple times.

Championship points are now Simon Längenfelder 495 points, Andrea Adamo 476pts, Kay de Wolf 453pts, Liam Everts 403pts, Sacha Coenen 367pts.

Sasha Coenen: I made a big mistake and he (Langenfelder) was in my back, but okay, we managed to win and show everyone, we can be on top.

MX2 Moto One

Sasha Coenen a huge holeshot, then Langenfelder, Everts, Valin, De Wolf, Oliver, Adamo, Prugnieres, Benistant and Reisulis in 10th. Coenen quickly two seconds ahead of Langenfelder. Adamo dropped to eight place and then Oliver passed him and he dropped to ninth.

Lap two and the lead was 2.2 seconds, then Everts 4.5 back and Valin 6.4 back, with de Wolf 7.5 back. After de Wolf was Reisulis, Prugenieres, Oliver, Adamo and Benistant. De Wolf a mistake and back to 11th place. The defending champions crashing is becoming really a problem.

Lap four and the lead was 5.3 and I think everyone happy to see the young Belgian riding like this. So much talent, just needs to learn to stay upright. Langenfelder was four seconds ahead of Everts, who was third, then Valin, Reisulis, Prugnieres, Oliver, Adamo, Benistant and McLellan, with de Wolf still 11th.

Adamo a mistake and he dropped to 11th, allowing de Wolf into 10th and Langenfelder probably smiling inside his helmet. Lap six the lead was 7.5 seconds, with the remaining top ten guys being Everts in third, then Valin, Reisulis, Pruginieres, Oliver, Benistant, McLellan and de Wolf.

Langenfelder making round on Coenen as the gap was around four seconds and Everts in third was 12 seconds back. Valin was next, then Reisulis, Pruginieres, Benistant, McLellan, de Wolf and Adamo 10th.

Lap 11 and the lead by Coenen was six seconds, then Langenfelder, Everts, Valin, Reisulis, McLellan, Prugnieres, de Wolf, Benistant and Adamo 10th. All of a sudden, Langenfelder was just 2.2 behind Coenen and within no time was all over the back wheel of the Belgian.

Adamo another crash and back to 11th position and de Wolf another crash also. Bad moto for the two other championship contenders. Coenen wins it from Langenfelder and Everts.
