Sasha Coenen is really showing great speed of late and finally being very consistent in his results. The teenager from Belgium won the MX2 qualifier in China with a flag to flag victory. Second was red plate man, Simon Langenfelder and third Valerio Lata. Kay De Wolf finished in fourth spot, to lost a couple of points on Langenfelder in the championship battle.

Sasha Coenen: It is kind of sketchy, the track, but happy to get P1 and really looking forward to tomorrow.

MX2 Qualification Race

Coenen with the lead in the MX2 qualifier followed by Langenfelder, Farres, Reisulis, Karssemakers, Valin, de Wolf, Everts, Adamo. De Wolf moved past Valin for seventh, and Aussie Dennis Byron in 11th spot. Our two Chinese riders, Zou and Yang ad 18th and 19th.

The lead by Coenen on lap one was 3.9 seconds, with Langenfelder a couple of seconds ahead of Lata, then came Farres, Reisulis, de Wolf, Valin, Adamo, Karssemakers, and Dennis into 10th place. A great showing by the Aussie, but Elzinga moved past him on lap two to drop the Aussie back to 11th again. Everts back in 14th place after a mistake and McLellan, who crashed on the first corner was 15th.

Dennis under fire as Everts, McLellan, Monne and Walvoort all went past to drop the Aussie to 15th place. Lap four it was Coenen with a 5.3 second lead, then Langenfelder, Lata, Reisulis, Farres, de Wolf, Valin, Adamo, Elzinga and Everts in 10th. De Wolf just cannot get past Farres.

Lap seven and the lead by Coenen was 6.4 and Langenfelder was around a similar distance ahead of Lata. Then came Reisulis, de Wolf, Farres, Valin, Adamo, Elzinga and Everts 10th. Coenen wins it from Langenfelder and Lata.
