De Wolf Wins Again - Arnhem
Defending World MX2 champion, Kay De Wolf of the Nestaan Husqvarna factory team, has won the MXGP of The Netherlands with a sizzling 1-1 performance to cut the points lead on series leader Simon Langenfelder. The Dutch sand specialist will head to the next round in Turkey with a lot of motivation to continue to cut the lead.
Second overall was Red Bull KTM factory rider, Andrea Adamo with 3-3. with 2-4 scores and third another RedBull KTM factory rider, Sasha Coenen with 2-4. Langenfelder went 8-5.
World championships points are now, Simon Längenfelder 783 points, Kay de Wolf 768pts, Andrea Adamo 745pts, Sacha Coenen 648pts, Thibault Benistant 575pts. So a points lead is now 15 point lead.
MX2 Moto Two
Everts led the second MX2 moto from Adamo, McLellan, de Wolf, Valin, Elzinga, Valin, Coenen, Walvoort, Farres, Karssmakers. Langenfelder sat in 23rd place. Langenfelder was quickly into 19th place. De Wolf into third place. De Wolf into second as he passed Everts and McLellan in the lead. Adamo back to fourth place. Langenfelder into 14th position.
Lap three and it was McLellan with a one second lead over de Wolf, then came Sdamo, Coenen, Everts, Valin, Karssemakers, Farres, Elzinga and Oliver 10th. De Wolf into the lead, and Langenfelder into 11th spot, but still a lot of points lost.
On lap six it was de Wolf, McLellan, Adamo, Coenen, Everts, Valin, Karssemakers, Farres, Elzinga and Langenfelder into 10th place. Lap seven and Valin down as De Wolf opens up a 1.7 second lead over McLellan.
Lap nine and Langenfelder was up to seventh place, but still a big points advantage for de Wolf here in Arnhem. Top ten was de Wolf, McLellan, Adamo, Coenen, Everts, Elzinga, Langenfelder, Farres, Karssemakers and Oliver 10th. Lap sixteen the top ten was De Wolf, McLellan, Adamo, Coenen, Langenfelder, Everts, Elzinga, Farres, Benistant and Karsemakers. De Wolf wins the moto and the GP.
