Febvre and Loket - Love Affair
We have spoken about it before, how important Loket is to the MXGP calendar, having been a regular stop since the 1990s. In recent years, along with circuits like Lommel, Pietramurata, Teutschenthal, Ernee, St Jean d’Angely, Matterley Basin and Uddevalla the main stay of the MXGP series.
There is no doubt, current series leader, Romain Febvre has a liking for the hard pack of Loket and with three overall victories at the circuit, he must go in this weekend with some confidence.
In 2015 Febvre went 1-1 for victory and as we all know, went on to become World MXGP champion. Second in 2015 was Evgeny Bobryshev with 2-2 and third Clement Desalle with 3-3 scores. Interestingly, only Glenn Coldenhoff and Febvre are still racing in the MXGP class from that field of riders a decade ago.

A year later in 2026, Max Nagl won the Czech GP with 1-1 scores, with Tim Gajser 2-2 and Febvre with 3-3 also on the podium. Antonio Cairoli won Loket in 2017 with 3-1 finishes, with De salle second on 2-2 and third was Gajser with 1-4. Febvre finished with 6-7 for sixth overall.
In 2018 it was the year of Jeffrey Herlings with a 1-1 result ahead of Cairoli 2-2 and Gajser 3-3. Febvre was fourth with 7-4 scores. Febvre won again in 2019 with 1-1 finishes, ahead of Gajser 2-2 and Jeremy Seewer 3-3.
Jorge Prado won Loket in 2021 after the Czech Republic missed 2020 due to Covid. Second to Prado was Cairoli with 6-1 and third Seewer with 5-2. Febvre finished fifth overall with 3- 10. Seewer won in 2022 with 1-2, Maxime Renaux was second with 3-1 and third was Gajser with 2-3. Febvre scored 19th place after finishing with just six points after falling sick.
Febvre won for the third time in 2023 with 1-4 scores, second was Prado with 3-2 and third Seewer with 2-3. Last year Gajser won with 3-1, second was Prado with 2-2 and third Herlings with 1-4, while Febvre finished sixth with 6-5 finishes.
