Romain Febvre is the 2025 World MXGP champion and becomes yet another French two-time world champion, joining the like of J. M. Bayle, Mickeal Pichon, Seb Tortelli, Marvin Musquin, Fred Bolley, and Tom Vialle.

The Kawasaki factory rider, also becomes Kawasaki’s first ever MXGP champion and the first Kawasaki rider to win a premier class world title since Tortelli, back nearly 30 years ago during the 1998 250cc world title race.

Febvre, who has battled the very best of this era is without question a rider who deserved more than his single 2015 championship and his win this year really makes him one of the best French motocross riders of all time.

Romain Febvre: Nothing to say, so many emotions. I feel like I achieved my career to be world champion again and at least I did it one more time. I want to thank Monster Energy, Kawasaki. Shout out to my daughter, we are coming home soon.

MXGP Moto One

Coenen with the lead in the opening MXGP moto, followed by Herlings, Gajser, Febvre, Guadagnini, Vlaanderen, Coldenhoff, Fernandez, Jonass and Renaux. Renaux went down when Jonass got out of shape and the two collided, with Renaux getting the worst of it. Lap one it was Coenen with a three second lead over Herlings, then Gajser, Febvre, Guadagnini, Vlaanderen, Fernandez, Coldenhoff, Jonass and Geerts.

Lap two the lead by Coenen was five seconds over Herlings, with Gajser 6.3 back in third and Febvre all over the back wheel of the HRC man. Renaux out of the race and maybe out for the day.

Lap five and not a lot happening on this beautiful circuit and maybe some changes needed for 2026 to make the circuit more race friendly? Top ten was Coenen, Herlings, Gajser, Febvre, Guadagnini, Fernandez, Vlaanderen, Coldenhoff, Gifting and Jonass.

Lap eight and still not much happening as the lead by Coenen went to 7.2 seconds, with Herlings second, then Gajser, Febvre, Guadagnini, Fernandez, Coldenhoff, Gifting, Jonass in 10th.

Febvre chasing Gajser, but not really needing to do anything that just ride around and enjoy the scenery. Gajser closes up on Herlings and Febvre also closing on the HRC man, so maybe a three way fight between the big three? The lead by Coenen was 10 seconds. Coenen wins the moto, and Febvre is our world MXGP champion for 2025.
