Jeffrey Herlings of the Netherlands team has shown his hand and a spectacular time of 1.48.778, to top the Open class free practice, slightly quicker than the time of Prado in the MXGP session (1.48.878).

Just as he does so often in 2026, the six-time world champion always wants the quickest time and its going to be exciting when Herlings and Prado meet in moto three tomorrow. Such a pity it will be the only time those two battle.

Earlier in the session, Liam Everts went 1.53.070 to go top and Cooper Webb got comfortable quickly doing a 1.55.496 to be third quickest early, just behind Everts and Pauls Jonass. Herlings opening two laps he could only manage a 2.00.089 time, but we all know the Dutchman was just looking at the circuit for that time.

Herlings then did a 1.49.566 time to go to the top of the session. Herlings improved his time, to do a 1.48.966 and be two seconds quicker than Everts, who had clocked a time of 1.51.192, with Adamo also quick with a 1.51.666 time. Vialle then did a 1.50 to be second quickest behind Herlings, but two seconds off the Dutchman’s time.
