Red Bull KTM factory rider, Jeffrey Herlings has won the Saturday qualifier for the MXGP class with a solid performance. The sand master won from fellow Dutchman, Glenn Coldenhoff and series leader and now heavy favourite to win the 2025 MXGP championship, Romain Febvre.

Coldenhoff led the MXGP qualifier from Gajser, Herlings, Jonass, Febvre, Brumann, Coenen, Van Doninck, Bonacorsi, and Bogers 10th. Herlings into second place as he passed Gajser and Coenen passed Febvre and into fifth place. Coenen also passed Jonass and into fourth spot. Febvre also passed Jonass and the top five was Coldenhoff, Herlings, Gajser, Coenen and Febvre.

Lap three and this track is delivering action as Coenen moved past Gajser and the top four all locked together. Coenen clearly motivated after his poor Sweden performance and looking very aggressive. Febvre into fourth as he puts Gajser into fifth.

Herlings into the lead as he passed Coldenhoff and Coenen looking to move into second. You cannot beat a sand track, these guys look so fast and so aggressive on this track. Top ten on lap six was Herlings, Coldenhoff, Coenen, Febvre, Gajser, Jonass, Bonacorsi, Van Doninck, Bogers and Geerts. Herlings with a 2.4 second lead as he controls the moto from Coldenhoff and Coenen.

Coenen a mistake and he dropped back to fifth place and the championship is slipping away for the young Belgian. Top ten on lap eight was Herlings, Coldenhoff, Febvre, Coenen back past Gajser, Bonacorsi, Jonass, Van Doninck, Bogers and Fernandez.

Lap 10 it was Herlings with a 3.3 second lead over Coldenhoff, then Febvre, Coenen, Gajser, Bonacorsi, Fernandez and Van Doninck. Coldenhoff closed right up on Herlings, but with two laps remaining, you get the feeling Herlings has it under control. Herlings wins from Coldenhoff and Febvre.
