Red Bull KTM factory rider Simon Langenfelder has won the MX2 qualification race with a flag-to-flag victory, beating home, Yamaha factory rider Thibault Benistant and Liam Everts. Defending champion, Kay De Wolf had a miserable race, crashing in the first lap and then again to finish out of the points.

For Langenfelder, it was another major points day as he extended his series lead over Andrea Adamo, who finished in fifth place. Championship points are now Simon Längenfelder 525 points, Andrea Adamo 494pts, Kay de Wolf 478pts, Liam Everts 427pts, Sacha Coenen 396pts.

Simon Langenfelder: I felt really good, start wasn’t best, but I go the holeshot and I could just ride my lines and control the race. I had a moment and that woke me up from last weekend.

MX2 Qualification Race

Langenfelder in the lead in the MX2 qualifier, ahead of Coenen, Lata, Adamo, Benistant, Everts, Braceras, McLellan, Reisulis, and Vennekens 10th. De Wolf a crash and back in 25th place. A dry and somewhat dusty Matterley Basin circuit as the MX2 boys start to spread out a little, with Langenfelder a 2.6 second lead over Coenen. On lap one de Wolf was 19th.

De Wolf another crash while in 17th and against out of the top twenty and back in 24th. Lata out of the race, struggling with his shoulder, from his crash with de Wolf in practice. Lap three the top ten was Langenfelder, Coenen, Benistant, Adamo, Everts, Braceras, Oliver, McLellan, Reisulis and Grau 10th. De Wolf in 22nd, but probably no points today as Langenfelder continues to make a bigger points gap to the defending champ.

Adamo giving Langenfelder even more of an advantage as he slipped over and dropped to seventh position. Lap five and it was Langenfelder with a 8.6 second lead over Coenen, then Benistant, Everts, Oliver, Braceras, Adamo, McLellan, Reisulis, and Valin now 10th.

Lap couple of laps Benistant all over Coenen for second and the Frenchman looking very calm and in control. Valin also moved past Grau for 10th place and also passed Reisulis for ninth. Everts also made his way to Coenen as he climbed onto the back wheel of Benistant. Langenfelder wins it from Benistant and Everts, who passed Coenen on the final lap.
