Max Nagl (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing) takes the lead in the standings at the start of the ADAC MX Masters season in Grevenbroich with three race wins. Tom Koch (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) made a successful return to the championship with third place.

As Acerbi's Best Qualifier, Nagl laid the foundation for three good races on Saturday. In the first race, he took the lead early on from Red Bull Holeshot winner Harri Kullas (EST/Schmicker Silve Racing) and took a clear race victory. On Sunday, Nagl did not get away from the starting gate optimally in the second race and first had to fight his way up from ninth place towards the top. In the second half of the race, he fought a spectacular duel with van de Moosdijk, who took the lead from start winner Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/SHR Motorsports by Hartje) on lap eight. Four laps before the end of the race, Nagl took the lead and defended it just ahead of van de Moosdijk until the finish. Talviku came in third. In the third race, Nagl then achieved a lights-to-flag victory and controlled the lead ahead of van de Moosdijk and Koch.
"I worked hard over the winter and that paid off this weekend. I'm happy to start the season like this and also for the entire Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing Team, with whom we won the team championship for the first time. That's not easy for such a young team. In the second race, after a bad start, I had to do a lot to get to the front. But I still felt fit at the end and dared to attack Roan. In the third race, I was able to manage my pace well after the Red Bull Holeshot," said Nagl.
Apart from Nagl, only van de Moosdijk managed to finish in the top three in all three races at the weekend. On Saturday, after starting in the top five, he fought his way up to second place within a few laps. In the second race, he came from the start in sixth place and was within two laps behind the leader Talviku. At the beginning of the second half of the race, van de Moosdijk took the lead, but he was only able to hold on to it for four laps before being passed by Nagl, on whom he kept up the pressure until the finish. In the third race, van de Moosdijk came out of the opening lap in ninth place and needed longer than in the previous races to move forward. It was only in the last third of the race that he took over second place from Koch, which also gave him second place overall.
"I'm happy with my riding, but if I want to win, I have to be at the front from the start. I made life a bit difficult for myself this weekend. But overall it was a good start and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season"; says van de Moosdijk.
On Saturday, Koch made a good start to the season after a year's break in the ADAC MX Masters with third place, after fighting his way up strongly from twelfth place on the first lap. On Sunday, he only made it to ninth place in the second race after finishing twelfth after the start. In the third race, he then confirmed Saturday's performance again and was in second place for nine laps before being pushed to third place. Thus, he finished third behind Nagl and van de Moosdijk. Talviku and Jere Haavisto (FIN/Schmicker Silve Racing) rounded off the top five in the event standings.
"Starting the season with a podium is solid and I can build on that. I had a bit of trouble in the second race, but the third race was all the better. I'm happy to be back at the ADAC MX Masters," said Koch.
All races on both days of the event can be streamed as re-livestreams or in individual races free of charge via the playlist ADAC MX Masters on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel.
