Nagl Wins Finale - ADAC
In optimal conditions, around 14,500 spectators experienced an exciting season finale of the ADAC MX Masters in Holzgerlingen. The reigning ADAC MX Masters Champion 2024, Max Nagl (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek), ended the season with the overall title on the shooting range. Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team) defended his Vizemeisterschaft, although he had to settle for third place behind Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) in Holzgerlingen.
Nagl, who is preparing for the race weekend as champion, moved up to fourth place behind Marcel Stauffer (A/Osicka MX Team) at the start on Saturday and led two laufsiege one on Sunday. While in the second race after the Red Bull holeshot he drove a start-goal victory, in the third race he had to wait until three laps before closing, as he led Dennis Ullrich (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) of the Spitze from the start could be delayed. Ullrich leads with the second rank for Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/Kosak Racing Team) his best result of the season one.
„It is great to finish the season with a further overall result, although it was not easy. Saturday was difficult because I started badly and had to fight through. The second run went perfectly with a start-goal victory, but in the third run I had to push hard to get ahead of Dennis. I am very pleased with the season, which I started with a strong winter preparation. Together with my team we have further developed the motorcycle and the strategy to start the season winning as many races as possible has paid off“, said Nagl after his victory.
Tixier, who had qualified as the LS2 Best Qualifier for the third time in a row on Saturday, won the first race of the weekend sovereignly. In the second run he accelerated against Ende the distance to nail, but had to settle for rank two. In the final third race Tixier started in place five, but in the vacation back to rank eight. After that, his achievements earned him second place in the day and the jump to third place.
„It was a good weekend, apart from the third run. I am very happy with the second place today. Despite three crashes and two difficult drives this season I am happy that I still made it on the podium in the championship“, balanced Tixier.
Tom Koch started the race weekend with his first Red Bull holeshot of the season and led the field until shortly before finishing before being overtaken by Tixier after a minor mistake. In the second race, Koch started in fifth place and fought his way up to rank three behind Nagl and Tixier. In the last round he still had to fend off an attack from Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team). In the third race there was Koch, similar to Tixier, heavy, but in the holidays found a better rhythm and finished the race in seventh place - one position ahead of the French. Thus he secured second place in the championship.
„Despite health problems in recent weeks I gave everything to get the title. It was a season with many highs and lows, and without the support of my teams I would not have been able to fight back. I am proud that it managed to finish second in the end“, Koch rejoices.
Behind Nagl, Koch and Tixier completed Maximilian Spies (D/Kosak Racing Team) and Adam Sterry (GB/Schmicker Racing) the top-five in the overall.
Same races on both event days can be watched as a re-livestream of Saturday and Sunday or in individual races for free on the ADAC MX Masters playlist on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel. All the achievements of the weekend can be found online under adac.de/mx-masters.
