While we showed you a cool interview yesterday with Mitch Covington from Monster Energy, about the arrival of AMA legend, Ryan Villopoto into MXGP, back in 2015, today, we bring you an exclusive interview with Villopoto, soon after his accident, which ended his career at the Trentino circuit in Italy.

Good friend and one of the best photographers the sport has seen, Gary Freeman did the interview and photo shoot at the Lommel circuit when the American returned to do some media work for Monster Energy.

The shoot took place as Freeman organized a beautiful old Kawasaki racing machine and a cool VW camper. To get Villopoto for the shoot wasn’t easy, and time was limited, but Villopoto obliged and gave a great interview on his experience in Europe, the racing, the racers and of course, the career ending crash.
