Tommy Searle on the Triumph machine has won the latest round of the British MX2 championship. The veteran went 3-1 for the victory, held today at Preston Docks.

Tommy Searle: I am really happy and I needed it. It’s getting harder for me to do this, mentally as much as physically and I was happy with race one with a third and then the red flag came out, and I had something in the tank. Kids are getting older and less time riding, so its harder and it means more now than it ever did. The young riders are really good, and Jamie said the old boys have nothing for him, so go abroad and race the big dogs. These kids are good riders, and they will show it abroad as well. Really happy and a shout out to the team, my family and everyone else. I do love it and it’s what I know, but this will be the last year. I have made my mind up about that.
