Frenchman, Cedric Soubeyras won the opening SX1 moto. In a very consistent heat, the multiple French supercross champion looked solid, but did have some issues throughout the race.

Cedric Soubeyras: I was hearing a noise, and the front pipe was loose, and I was worried it might go into my front wheel. Let’s go for the next one.

The opening SX1 heat saw Dylan Walsh holeshot and lead into the opening lap. Dean Wilson was second, with the Scot going for the pass on Walsh, but then went down and was back in sixth place. Soubeyras into the lead as Walsh was baulked by the move by Wilson. Hayden Mellross was second, then Wash, Nicoletti, Dylan Wood, Wilson, Elijhas Wiese, Joel Cigliano and Seth Jackson.

Wilson moved into second, and was six seconds behind, Mellross, with Soubeyras with a two second lead over the second placed man. Wilson a mistake and ran off the track. Wilson catching Mellross for seconds and Nicoletti in fourth some six seconds off the pace of Wilson.

Soubeyras wins it from Mellross and Wilson close behind in third place. Then Nicoletti and Walsh in fourth and fifth.

Heat 2 SX1

Kawasaki rider, Luke Clout won the second SX1 heat after a nice little battle with fellow Aussie, Aaron Tanti on the Yamaha. Third was American, and former GP rider, Mitchell Harrison who had come back from last place.

Luke Clout: I feel good. Got off to a good start, made some mistake, but overall, felt good out there.

Clout the lead in the second SX1 heat as Mitchell Harrison went down and was last. After the first corner, it was Clout, Tanti, West, Jackson, and Zielinski in fifth. Harrison quickly past two riders to move into eight and then quickly into seventh spot.

Clout and Tanti fighting for the heat as they got a long way ahead of Liam Jackson in third and Harrison moved into fifth place, to make sure he gets into the main events and doesn’t have to go through the last chance. Clout wins it from Tanti, and Harrison a great ride to get into third place.
