Kawasaki factory rider Mathis Valin has won the MX2 qualification race in horrible conditions as the motocross gods continue to bring us a season of mud, mud and more mud. Second was HRC factory rider Valerio Lata and third Nestaan Husqvarna factory rider, Kay De Wolf, who had come from near last in the opening lap.

Mathis Valin: I needed that. I had a good start in these conditions, which was good. I just did my own race and now we need to stay focused for tomorrow.

MX2 Qualification race

Valin led from Lata at the start of the MX2 qualifier with McLellan third, but he went down in the first lap, which brought Adamo into second, then Karssemakers, Reisulis, Mikula, Langenfelder, de Wolf (who had come from around 30th place in the start) and Valk was 10th. Coenen was 19th and McLellan 15th after his crash.

After two laps it was Valin, Lata, Adamo, Benistant, de Wolf, Karssmakers, Mikula, Reisulis, Langenfelder and McLellan fighting his way back into 10th place. The lead by Valin was 2.4 seconds on lap three, with Adamo 4.6 back in third place, then Benistant, de Wolf, Karssmakers, Reisulis, McLellan and Langenfelder 10th.
